All right. Let's go:
keeping the concept of "evolutions being like bricks that built Andrew's career"
The idea:
build something, "brick by brick", and take pictures to create a stop motion.(that will gradually have a faster frame rate as it goes along)
why stop motion? in my research I considered the "moving images" the precedent of the cinema industry. stop motion is precisely that, the optical illusion of moving images.
ps. I MIGHT finalise the video with a real recording including effects on the background, to represent even more the evolution he has been through, but I'll leave that as a POSSIBILITY as my time and skills are really limited at the moment.
why "build something"? bricks will represent the technological evolutions, and the "thing" is being built will represent Andrew. meaning he is (as a compositor) a result of all the technological changes he has adapted and learned.
why gradually faster frame rates? Because he said these changes saved him a lot time, so things can be done quicker now. (and on the interactive infographic this also one of the main things: how the release windows are so much quicker now)
Brainstorming: - LEGO. I can't take this out of my mind. I've looked for Mad Max ones but couldn't find anything. (Andrew also sent me a PDF explaining in more detail what he worked on on each movie and Mad Max appears to be the most extensive one and his favourite so far (not surprisingly as that movie won 6 Oscars and was also nominated for Best Achievement in Visual Effects). I love LEGO and although this is an Interpretation of Andrew's experience, I am the one who is interpreting, therefore I should allow my own passions to be shown too.
Spinning, turning it around. - I believe the film industry (as most industries) is in constant change. Instead having my "thing" building up from a steady point of view, I thought about turning it around, like spinning, as the new pieces are added on at the same time... (this might complicate things a bit though)
- Show the movies he worked on in the background (IF I happen to risk doing something like that...) I will focus on basic stop motion first and think about this one if there is enough time...
