It is funny how some ideas take their own time to come in and some just appear pretty much straight away. Since I got Kristin's CV I had the idea of making her infographic like a stage.
Besides the obvious fact that she works with stage/set design, there are other aspects in the idea of a stage that made me think "this is it!".
Let's think about stages.
1 - I can imagine a big space, elevated so it is quite visible to a large audience. People on it are in the centre of the attention and use this space to share something, normally a skill (bands, actors, comedians).
2 - There are curtains or screens to hide equipments, cables and other stuff that stay in the back but are essential to everything that happens during the "show".
3 - It is made up by a number of visual elements that connect with one main idea or concept
Now let's think about CVs.
1 - like a stage, people CV's are a way to show off their skills to others. They are the centre of the attention, everything in there is about them.
2 - like the curtain, a CV sometimes hides stuff that are essential for that person's skill and abilities, things that can't be seen but are as important as the ones that are visible.
3 - and like a stage, a CV is also made from a number of stuff (information), that together connects with that person's specific skills and personality.
And to finalise, the word "stage" can also mean "a point, period, or step in a process or development" correlating with our personal and profissional growth - things we have done (previous experiences = earlier stages) and things we are looking for (goals = further stages).
So with that in mind I've started to draft some ideas.. originally I as thinking on a front view stage, but struggling on how to add all the information on it. Then I saw a Harry Potter circular infographic which really pleased me and bang! I had my final idea... an circular stage, top view, with different levels, her name (or initials) right in the middle, elevated, and all her experience and skills around it, as a way of showing that what she is today is a consequence of all the steps she has taken till the present moment, and on her CV she is the star, it's her show, its her channel to show off her skills.
I've also added extra information on the sides trying to make them look like seats, like an audience looking at her. This is to represent what "lies in front of her" - as connecting her path with education again is something she has in mind for the future.
